An experience with spa, Forest Finnish culture, and local culinary traditions

Experience Finnskogen through nature, culture, and great flavors. The Taste of Finnskogen is a collaboration between Skaslien Gjestgiveri, the Norwegian Forest Finnish Museum, and Finnskogtoppen Spa & Wellness Hotel – three partners who together offer a complete Finnskogen experience.

Over three days and two nights, you move from historic surroundings and traditional meals, through Forest Finnish cultural heritage, to peace and well-being at Finnskogtoppen. Along the way, you’ll experience the silence of the forest, engaging storytelling, and rich flavors rooted in local traditions.

Program

Day 1 – Arrival and local culinary experiences at Skaslien Gjestgiveri

Your stay begins at the historic Skaslien Gjestgiveri, with check-in from 3PM 15.00. Here, you are welcomed with a delicious, locally inspired dinner, accompanied by engaging storytelling that offers a unique introduction to Finnskogen’s rich cultural heritage.

The evening can be rounded off with an atmospheric visit to the traditional storehouse (NOK 100 per person), or you may choose social activities and friendly competitions in the courtyard (additional cost).

Day 2 – Forest Finnish history and well-being

The day begins with breakfast before departure to the Norwegian Forest Finnish Museum. Here, you’ll enjoy museum entry and be served the traditional dish motti and pork (or an alternative lunch by arrangement).

Admission and lunch from NOK 360 per person. A guided tour can be added for an even richer experience.

The journey continues to Finnskogtoppen Spa & Wellness Hotel, with check-in from 3PM. 15.00. Here, you can unwind in our spa area or take part in our shared activities.

In the evening, a flavorful 3-course dinner with local influences is served. For those who wish, the evening can be rounded off with atmospheric storytelling around the fire (from NOK 3,000 per group).

There is also the option to pre-book spa treatments for an even more relaxing experience.

Day 3 – Breakfast and departure

The stay concludes with a delicious breakfast, and for those who wish, there is also the opportunity to enjoy more time in the spa before departure. After two enriching days in Finnskogen, you return home with new impressions of nature, culture, and local flavors.
