Norwegian Forest Finn Museum
On October 25, 2025, the new Norwegian Forest Finn Museum opened in Svullrya, in the very heart of the rich and mystical Finnskogen. This marks a historic event for the entire region – and we at Finnskogtoppen are delighted to have a vibrant and inspiring museum dedicated to Forest Finnish heritage just a short drive away.
A living cultural heritage
Forest Finnish immigrants arrived in the area in the 17th century and left a deep mark on the area’s nature, buildings, way of life and stories. At the new museum, you can take part in this history through exhibitions, traditional craftsmanship, architecture and live communication. You’ll also have a unique opportunity to experience Forest Finnish food culture, which is served as part of the museum’s overall experience.

In connection with the museum opening, we are now offering a special 1-day package with accommodation, lectures and a guided tour in forest Finnish footsteps. This is a great opportunity to combine knowledge and experience with relaxation, good food and silence in beautiful surroundings.

We offer lectures, guided tours and guided tours of the museum as part of the visitor experience. For bus groups visiting the museum on their own, we offer lectures in front of the fire or in our auditorium as a complement to the museum experience. It is also possible to order lunch in addition.
Our guides know Finnskogen like the back of their hands and will take you to old Finn villages, mysterious trails and stories embedded in the landscape.
