Finnskogtoppen Spa & Velværehotell (Spa & Wellness Hotel) is a peaceful and personal spa retreat in the heart of Finnskogen, approximately two hours from Oslo. Here, we have gathered answers to some of the most common questions about spa stays, treatments, dining, activities, and your stay with us.
Practical information
Check-in is from 3:00 PM, and check-out from your room is by 11:00 AM.
If you have booked a package that includes full board, lunch and access to all hotel facilities are included until 2:00 PM on your departure day.
Early check-in (12:00 PM) and late check-out (1:30 PM) are available for an additional charge of NOK 295 per person.
Of course! Lunch on the day of arrival (+ NOK 395) must be booked in advance.
We can accommodate a limited number of lunch guests each day. A standard stay at Finnskogtoppen includes dinner on the day of arrival, followed by breakfast and lunch on the day of departure. These meals are automatically registered in our booking and kitchen systems, which means it is unfortunately not possible to exchange departure-day lunch for arrival-day lunch. We appreciate your understanding.
Yes. Finnskogtoppen Spa & Velværehotell (Spa & Wellness Hotel) has four CloudCharge charging stations located in the hotel car park. To charge your vehicle, you can use the CloudCharge app, an RFID card, or SMS, together with a Type 2 charging cable. The charging stations provide up to 6.9 kW charging capacity.
Your room includes a bathrobe, hairdryer, and towels for both your room and the pool area. Rubber slippers are available to borrow from reception.
We recommend bringing:
- swimwear
- comfortable clothing for activities and exercise
- indoor shoes or slippers
- suitable clothing for outdoor walks and excursions
- and perhaps most importantly, comfortable clothes for simply relaxing
All rooms are stocked with organic toiletries from Maria Åkerberg, while products from Kerstin Florian are available in the pool area and changing rooms. All products used throughout the hotel are also available for purchase in our shop.
Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, lounges, and all common areas.
Finnskogtoppen Spa & Velværehotell (Spa & Wellness Hotel) is designed as a peaceful and relaxing retreat and is not specifically geared towards children.
Children are of course welcome, and we kindly ask parents and guardians to be considerate of other guests so that everyone can enjoy the calm atmosphere.
Yes. We offer dog-friendly rooms in the Sjøglans, Sjøglimt, and Skogsro room categories. A cleaning fee of NOK 500 per stay applies, regardless of the number of nights booked.
For allergy reasons and out of consideration for other guests, dogs are not permitted in the hotel’s common areas and must remain in the room during meals and indoor activities. We therefore recommend that your dog is comfortable being left alone for short periods.
By purchasing cancellation insurance, your booking may be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before arrival. Cancellation insurance can be purchased when making your reservation, or no later than 7 days after the booking date (and at least 15 days before arrival) by contacting post@finnskogtoppen.no (NOK 295 per person). Have you already booked your stay without cancellation insurance but would like to add it? Please contact us and we will be happy to assist.

Your booking may be cancelled free of charge up to 2 weeks before the arrival date.
For cancellations made less than 2 weeks before arrival, you are required to pay a percentage of the agreed booking value, as stated in your booking confirmation under section 1, as follows:
- Cancellation 14–7 days before arrival: 10%
- Cancellation 7–3 days before arrival: 25%
- Cancellation 0–3 days before arrival: 50%
Group bookings and conferences: Please refer to your separate agreement.
Yes. Finnskogtoppen Spa & Velværehotell (Spa & Wellness Hotel) has been a proud member of “De Historiske Hotell & Spisesteder” since January 2025. Gift cards issued by “De Historiske” can be used during your stay with us.

Yes. Finnskogtoppen is located approximately two hours from Oslo and is a popular choice for guests seeking a peaceful spa retreat close to nature, while still within comfortable driving distance of the city.
Finnskogtoppen Spa & Velværehotell (Spa & Wellness Hotel) is beautifully situated in the heart of Finnskogen, where public transport options are limited. The easiest way to reach us is by car.
Taxis can be arranged from Kongsvinger town centre (approximately 50 km away), and on selected days, we also offer return transfers between Kongsvinger and Finnskogtoppen with our minibus.

Alternatively, you can arrange a taxi from Kongsvinger, approximately 50 km away. On selected days, we also offer return transfers between Kongsvinger and Finnskogtoppen with our minibus. Please contact us for availability.

Yes. On selected days, we offer pick-up and return transport between Kongsvinger and Finnskogtoppen with our minibus. You can find information about getting here and available transfer times on our travel information page. On other days, a taxi from Kongsvinger (approximately 50 km away) is the most convenient option.
Finnskogtoppen is open year-round, and each season has its own unique atmosphere. Many guests visit during autumn and winter to enjoy peaceful surroundings and warming spa experiences, while spring and summer are perfect for exploring nature, enjoying the long daylight hours, and discovering the beauty of Finnskogen.

If you have booked a package that includes full board, dinner is included on the day of arrival, while breakfast and lunch are included on the day of departure.
We serve a variety of buffets, three-course dinners, and an all-day menu available every day.
Our menus offer a varied and flavourful selection, including options for vegetarian guests. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know when booking and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Many of our guests appreciate the calm atmosphere and the opportunity to begin the morning at their own pace.

Lunch

Lunch is served as a buffet featuring a varied selection of hot and cold dishes, salads, and homemade specialties.
The menu changes throughout the year, focusing on seasonal ingredients and flavors that feel light, nourishing, and satisfying after a day spent enjoying the spa, activities, or the surrounding nature.

6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

In the evening, dinner is served in warm and peaceful surroundings. Depending on the season, your package, and the number of guests staying with us, dinner is offered either as a buffet or as a three-course menu.

Yes. We offer both vegetarian and vegan options. We are also happy to accommodate allergies and other dietary requirements, provided we are informed in advance.
Full board is included in several of our packages, but not all of them. Please check your booking confirmation for details.
Yes, absolutely. You are welcome to dine with us even if you are not staying overnight. We recommend contacting us in advance to make a reservation, or you can book your meal through our online booking system. We also offer an all-day menu every day.
Yes. Finnskogtoppen Spa & Velværehotell (Spa & Wellness Hotel) is fully licensed and serves alcoholic beverages.
Fitness, spa and activities
At Finnskogtoppen, we offer a variety of activities, including yoga, water aerobics, guided walks, meditation, and instructor-led fitness sessions. Activities vary throughout the year and are adapted to the season and program.

No. All activities at Finnskogtoppen are entirely optional. Some guests enjoy active days filled with exercise and outdoor experiences, while others prefer to spend their time relaxing in the spa and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Your stay is yours to enjoy in whatever way suits you best.
No. In most cases, there is no need to bring your own equipment. Finnskogtoppen provides equipment for activities such as yoga and fitness classes. However, we recommend bringing comfortable clothing and suitable footwear if you plan to join outdoor walks or excursions.
Our walks take place on forest trails and through areas that may include wet or marshy terrain. We therefore recommend sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots. We also suggest bringing comfortable indoor footwear so you can move around the hotel with ease.
Yes. There are miles of trails surrounding Finnskogtoppen. You can step straight out of the hotel and into peaceful forest surroundings.
For those who wish to explore further, Finnskogen offers an extensive network of trails rich in both nature and history, including historic Forest Finn homesteads and sections of the Finnskogleden.
Yes. Finnskogen is a wonderful destination for both cycling and motorcycle touring. Many of our guests highlight the quiet roads, light traffic, and beautiful scenery as some of the area’s greatest attractions.
Here, you will find winding forest roads, long scenic stretches, and landscapes that invite memorable journeys, whether you prefer leisurely bike rides or longer motorcycle adventures.
Swimming pool (31°C / 88°F), whirlpool, steam room, sauna and Kneipp pool (hot and cold contrast bathing).
Access to the spa facilities is included in your stay. Treatments and massages must be booked separately. We recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time.
No. Activities included in our activity schedule do not require advance booking unless specifically stated.
